are you comfortable/have you read up on assisted hatching? Is the egg under a broody? I have never done any assisted hatchings with a broody, so I do not know how that would work.
orr.. you could try to let nature take it's course, sometimes chicks that are malpositioned do make it out on...
looks about right to me. hope it falls off with in the next few days. it is dry and scabby, do I need toput anything on it? The other chicks are not picking at it
I just realized my week-old JG chick as a tiny black scab under it's vent. The chick is very active, and one of the biggest of the groups. He ( I think so from feather sexing) looks very healthy and eats and drinks fine.
is that a problem? will it fall off soon?
