Awesome input! Thank you everyone. Educated guesses is all I was really looking for lol i know it can be very difficult to distinguish with chicken "mutts". He really is a pretty bird though. I try to pick up tail feathers as he loses them. They make good shop decorations.
Hello all,
I'm looking to find the breed of bird I have. Inherited him when we bought a new house. Went on Craigslist to research people who wanted a rooster (He's a bully and I don't have enough hens for 2 roosters) and found he may be a rare type of bird. Any input? I think he may be a Madigin...
I let them out about 2pm because I tend to go to work at 3-4 am and it seems a little early for them to be out making noise lol I may start letting them out when I leave for work though. Seems to be my best bet

I just simply mounted a "comfortable warmth" bulb in the highest back corner and leave it on all the time. It's low wattage and keeps the coop about 55-60 degrees plus
Yes! That's what it was actually. Not so much that it was really bad for them more so that it may contain GMOs making for a not fully natural grow. Thanks for the info! Ill check the site out. Gonna get started on the new coop here in about 20 minutes
Yeah I've heard that a scratch is also important. I wouldn't mind finding a natural scratch like that. Ill look into it. I've heard corn isn't good for them? Any reason why? I've seen multiple people thrown corn cobs in a coop and the girls love it. As far as space goes I have a 1/4 acre fenced...
I'm very new at growing chickens. Although I am an animal enthusiast, so I feel as if I did all the proper research and put the right work into them so far, I would like to hear some feedback as well. I bought 3 little girls (that I know of so far, the co-op only has an 85% promise of female so...
