    Help!!!!

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. That sucks, especially when you are close to the chickens. About the toenails, I doubt that had anything to do with it. We have many chickens without toenails. I never figured out what caused it, other than maybe because we got ours as chickes in Oct...

    Roo Questions

Thanks, I will not worry about it then. This chicken business is pretty easy. I am really enjoying having them, they are fun to watch, and great for the kids. We just love collecting together, but it is still very new. I have a feeling we will be supplying the neighborhood with eggs for...

Thanks again for all input..... I just thought of 2 more questions.... If we get a broody hen and end up with peeps, then they grow and we get a roo, can he mate with the others since they all have the same fther? I know this might be a dumb question, but does incest matter with chickens...

Finally have eggs, YAY! (But have some questions)

Thanks so much for all the useful information!! The eggs are in different shades, it is nice to know that if there is a pattern I can possibly pinpont the hen to her egg. That will take some time, I have 15 hens and one roo, and there is only one hen that stands out so far, her name is Bella...

I haven't had ANY eggs until I was out of town for a night and when I got home, I found 14 eggs!!! I was so excited. There were a few here and there around the yard, but a nest of them in the coop. I have a couple questions about the eggs.... How soon do you have to collect them after they...

    Just some questions regarding chickens

Thanks, you were helpful... I am thinking it could be genetic (the toes) and it seems these are always the same ones staying inside. We do have dogs, locked up and actually the dogs don't even bother the chickens, sometimes the chickens will try to eat out the dogs dish with the dogs. Not so...

    Just some questions regarding chickens

Hello, I am new to having chickens. We got them as peeps (approx 3 days old) the end of October. We still have yet to see an egg, but assuming by all the posts I have read, it should be any day. What do you all think? I have a few questions and am hoping for some answers, this will probably...

    A pic of peeps

It was actually easy, the kids loved them and the peeps just sat still. I thought this would be alot harder to get a pic of, but we actually got about 6 pics. Believe it or not, there wasn't much of a mess left behind either.

    Hello from Pennsylvania

Hello to all.... I am a newbie to this site, and also a newbie to having chickens. My daughters 4th birthday this past October she wanted a pet. We decided on getting 25 chickens (2 of them roosters). We ordered them as peeps at 2-3 days old and had a great run with them ever since. There...
