Just a quick update, I put him on Craig's list, and gave him away to a vet who had 11 hens with a huge coop, he gets to hang with the hens, and I just found out 3 days ago, that he is a father to 7 chicks (it would be 8 but nature took it's course) I'm glad that he is a happy rooster with a...
Her tail is like a roosters, and her body is built more like a Roos, she doesn't have breasts or a saddle built like a hens, and her comb is large, but not that large. She seems more like a rooster, she could be a late bloomer in roo characteristics thought.
Some times my hens just stop laying or slow down for no reason at all, if I was a chicken, I would slow down every once in a while, it must be hard laying eggs every day! Whenever that happens, I just give them a treat like a few pieces of lettuce and let them be, and after a week there fine.
Ok, she has a little bit of dried blood that wasn't there 2 days ago, but thank you for your help! Her toe wasn't crooked for at the most a month, because I inspect them at the beginning of every month for predator injuries, or pecking wounds ect.
These are my babies 9 months ago, 2 ducks (which are both male:( ) and 3 chicks (one of them are male) they are all super cute! Well. The rooster is sold to a vet, but they are all so cute!
I gotten three roosters, but they all crowed at 9 weeks and started mating with my hens at 18, so, I think that it's a hen, but a side view would be great.
I have a silver laced whinedot (I don't know to spell it) and she had the same characteristics as your chick, but she is a hen, but is at the top of the pecking order, and pecks a lot, but she is a hen, so you may have the same luck as I do.
It could be a mix between an Americana and a golden comet, I have had one of those, and they had pink feet but feathers almost exactly like that. But I could be wrong. Hope you find out her/his breed, the lil chick is so cute though.
I have a buff Orpington who has a broken toe, or, I think she does. I went out on a road trip last weekend, and I came home to see that all my chickens were fine, except one. She walks on it, sleeps on it, but doesn't scratch the ground with it, she doesn't put all her weight on it, on only some...
I have a EE and my friend thought that sense the shell was green the insides would be green, and I then told her that Dr. Susses green eggs and ham wasn't made up. She was so scared of the egg, and when I made her eat some scrambled eggs later she TOLD me that I didn't use my EE egg, I almost...
I had the same problem, so I put my rooster in a large dog crate, where he was able to see the hens but not get to them, he calmed down, somewhat, so I let him out at night and kept him in the crate during the day, slowly I started putting him back in his crate later and later in the day, it...
Moved the duck pen 1 week ago, all of them finshed molting or they are too young to molt, yes the roo Is harassing them but I'm moving him into a separated area soon, like today, and then Im going to sell him.
Some of them are in molt but only 2 of the 7 and I got 3 new chicks at July, and one is a roo. and I moved in a new coop for my ducks right outside their gate, yes I checked for parasites, and I don't think they Ned worming, and their poop is fine, no signs of worms. Their eating and drinking...
