on quail usually wait for first 3 eggs from hen the eggs get to full size and chicks will be bigger and healthier, also first eggs might not be fertile

if the pullets are eating laying feed they can start laying eggs most likely the egg will not have a Yoke in it. and if you continue the laying feed there is a high possibility that you can ruin the egg production of the pullets. so be careful of what you are doing with your young pullets.

mine too I to lazy to deal with frozen water so they get heat lamp during cold months. which makes them lay sooner and makes coturnix lay year round.
