Sooo! On April 11th I found one of my bantams sitting on an egg. so I put a mark on it and marked my calendar. In the meantime they all laid a total of 7 eggs. They are all sitting on the eggs. As of May 2nd it was 21 days. On the 5th I found a baby chick under one hen and one out of nest dead...
How do I go about rounding then up? If they roost in a tree I won't be able to get them. Should I let them out yet since they haven't started laying eggs.
I just added to the coop they had. The new coop has 2 laying boxes in it. I have had them sleeping together in a small coop since they were baby chicks (May 2013)
Last night my chickens and roosters would not go in the house to roost. They perched outside the house. I checked in the house and there was nothing in there.
Are they too big to sleep together now?
I just added a new coop and house with laying boxes to the original coop. They did not even go...
I am a single working mother of 3! I have been saying that I wanted SOS chickens for two years. My aunts chickens snuck in some babies and she gave me three. We tried to find homes for the other 3 but no luck. So I took them on too. Glad I did!
I am not sure what kind they are. Maybe some line...
