As far as the navels go, I left them alone and they look fine now. Took about 48 hours to close up.
I had a duck that pipped on monday, and it finally hatched sometime early this morning. It is doing fine. I would just leave the pipped one alone. From what I have read they will get out...
I have my fingers crossed for you!
I never figured I would get any of my eggs to hatch, so now they all seem to be hatching:D I am up to 5 Saxonies and two Cayuga, plus the 3 Toulouse. I also have more eggs in the bator due to hatch next week, plus some mystery ducks I put in last week. I am...
Today is day 32 for me. All but two eggs have hatched. One of the two that are left has pipped, and I don't think my one Sebbie egg is going to do anything. The ducks I have are flying out of their shells though!
Woke up this morning to another goose:)Ran to town today and came back to find two Saxony babies out of their shells! I think they wait for me to leave before hatching:D The Saxony's had barely pipped when I left. I was only gone 3 hours..
Came home from work today to find that one of my goose eggs had hatched and my Saxony eggs pipping. Checked the other incubator and found that my Cayuga eggs had started pipping two days early! Keeping my fingers crossed that we'll have ducklings tomorrow!
I had a male african growing up that was a lone goose. He did fine by himself, but I spent at least a few hours every day with him. I never had a problem with him bothering my ducks. But I'm sure all geese are different. This is just my experience..
Superglue will work if you can get her to hold still long enough to put the glue on and hold the wound closed. It burns a bit, so she'll probably be even more fiesty.
Hi,
I have a slightly dumb question. I have eggs due to go into the hatcher tomorrow and more on friday. I am not sure how I should get the dry babies out without disrupting my other eggs. Is there a way to do this?
I have heard good things about the Anconas as well, plus they're cute:)The eggs I am hatching came from breeders. I got a little excited buying eggs, and really didn't think they would all make it this far. So now I am going to have to find homes for some before my boyfriend has a heart attack...
I have about 30 eggs in the incubator due to hatch next week. There are Saxony, Cayuga and Ancona eggs. If you are still looking for ducklings I can let you know what I get.
I am located in Madera, Ca.
Well I took the incubator apart and put it back together. Now it seems to be holding temps fine. Wondering if I squished the fan when I put it together originally.
Hi!
I found this thread and really want to share my news with people who are feeling like I am:D My ducks are on day 5 and 13 out of 14 are devoloping! I am so excited. This is my first hatch since I was in 4-H
I have a brower top hatch that I have up and running. The temps were pretty stable for the first couple of days, but now I have hot and cold spots. one side of the incubator will show a temp of 104 and two other areas will be about 5 to 10 degrees cooler. I'm not sure what to do.
Thanks. I am waiting on a new incubator but they have been slow to ship it. Warehouse problems... I can't wait to not use this darn Lg any more. It's driving me insane.
Hi,
I am having some trouble regulating the heat in my incubator. I have an LG 9200 still air and from what I have read I am to keep the temp at 102 degrees at the top of the eggs. I have been doing this but the temp half way up the egg is only about 95. If I try to bring the temp up to 99...
