I'm on my third incubator loads, two incubators. Loads 1 & 2 (also 2 incubators each) were uneventful, going very smoothly. This current loads are going well also. The shipped eggs are not fertile but my own eggs are full of "chick". I love my two NR 360's.
I covered my fan with a piece of hardware cloth ( 1/2 x 1 inch grid) attaching it with plastic coated twist ties. It worked great. I replaced these after the covers came and when setting up for lock down. I also swapped out the "gasket" for the electronic board at the same time. I had a chick...
FYI: For those who have not received the moisture seal, in the directions, it says not to turn the lid over so it sits on its top as this allows moisture to run into the electronics and cause damage to them. As wet as mine got, it could be a lot of liquid too.
I had received the fore mentioned Anti Moisture Seals but I had already started lockdown with #2 incubator and #1 was a couple days into a new cycle. I opted to finish the hatching of both before I added the seals. Unexpectedly, #2 had 15 eggs pip all at the same time. When they started hatching...
My fan guards came today but more important is what else was included in the package. It is an Anti Moisture Seal Foam for the Incubator Display... a foam device to block moisture from damaging the heart of the incubator.
THANK YOU Harris Farm / Manna Pro Your attention to the problems of...
If you put the paper in when lockdown is starting, it means removing all the eggs. I did that on my first hatch. I worried about mixing eggs that I was trying to keep separate in my mind. I also worried about them rolling off the counter, or, being dropped. I like the simplicity of being able...
Put one piece of screen under the grill/grid. The water reservoirs support the screen from the bottom and the grill/grid hold it down. Use the plastic/fiberglass screen. Metal screen is going to rust. Put the egg turner over both. It still turns the same as without the screen.
I originally used paper towels starting at lock down after a chick stuck its foot through the grill. I was able to get it back out without harming the chick.I put the paper towel down during hatching so the incubator was not turning the eggs. The paper is going to cause problems if the egg...
I hate to post right now due to the above person's problems however, I am busy in the AM and can't get to this until way later.
We had some no-seeum window screen on hand and I was in the midst of reloading a second round of eggs. I had everything apart so I traced the grid onto the window...
I would think a piece of wire could either be laced through the outside edges or run a zig zag around the outside edge over a piece of wire. I'll give that a try and test it beings 'bater #1 is currently empty. I'll see what it does with the egg turner too. I'll see what I can do about...
Another thought... the egg candler could be brighter. I could not candle the Cream Legbar eggs nor the brown Penedesenca eggs (they are a dark brown) even in the dead of night dark.
I bought 2 of the Nurture Right 360. I am unable to send email, so I called and left a message to get 2 adapters for the fan cover. I am so glad the phone numbers were posted here so I could do that as it is not on the instruction sheets. In the mean time, I cut a 3" square of 1/2 x 1 welded...
I bought my NR360 3/30/18. I loaded it 4/1. I am going to cut a piece of woven wire to cover the fan guard if I don't get one ordered in time. Will attach it with a plastic coate bag twistie. I am quite happy with the NR360. Previously, I have used a vintage metal one and a styrofoam one. This...
I have and am trying to maintain a small flock of Partridge Penedesencas. There used to be some breeders on here, and on the Facebook Spanish Chickens list. I have tried to contact some of them however, with no luck. My flock came from three different sources.. three hens from a local chicken...
my avatar is my best hen, though she died last year. I was not sure of her age as she was a "hen" when I got her. Looking for for chicks now and not finding any. Anyone have some? I need some pullets and cockerels.
