I am desperatley looking for some Sebastopol goslings or eggs for a very close friend of mine. The flock they are coming from needs to be NPIP approved so if you have some or know of somebody that does please let me know. And this is a big surprise for her birthday hopefully and I really hope we...
Well a very dear friend of mine wants to enter her 3 year old son in a Chicken Chariot Race at a local festival. Well I have volunteered to help him with it. I have decided to use a standard game rooster as a horse for this event. But the chariot has me well... less than sure. Any of you ever...
Yeah, with all my birds I take the proactive approach keep extra males. I don't know how many times I have been called and told my rooster died do you have one I can buy? I do go overboard sometimes tho I have 3 speckled sussex roosters and quite recently no hens >.< And can't find hens or eggs...
Oh and I must say you are one of the nicest people I have ever met. You are an amazing person and I only have good things to say about you. Can't say enough good things about you and can't say anything bad.
Nice pics Irish.
Yeah I think I am gonna have to settle for bourbons because slates are impossible to find in my area and the blacks are pricey.
And as far as the rudeness it doesn't bother me at all I am quite thick skinned but it isn't helping BYC at all and can really deter new people to...

I'm sorry if I offended you but all I did was quote what my APA standard of perfection says for weights. I never slandered you or your birds in any way. No reason to get all huffy puffy about it. And I never claimed to know every thing about turkeys, i'll be the first to admit that I am...
My APA standard of perfection says 33 for toms 18 for hens for bourbons, blacks and slates. It says 22 for toms and 12 for hens in the royal palms. This is also what many sites I have read say.

From what I have read the bourbon reds are suppose to be substantially bigger than the palms. Thats why I want the bigger breeds for a bigger table bird and I do like big birds.
Got my first peafowl egg of the year this morning from my pen with a white cock and 1 cameo, 1 silver pied and 1 black shoulder hen. It will be my first time ever incubating peafowl eggs. Wish me luck.
I have been pondering getting some turkey poults and trying my hand at raising then hopefully breeding turkeys. I am thinking between four colors, the Slate Blues, Spanish Blacks, Bourbon Reds and Royal Palms. I was wondering what your experiences are with them? Are they all around the same...
They molt in late summer. I bought my regular pair last year in early september and both look like hens. My regular drake is missing his sail feathers on one side. And my white drake has never looked 100% feathered (I personally think he is a very submissive drake and seems to think everybody...
Okay in my opinion Cayugas are only suppose to some in black and any other color people clam as Cayuga is not. And some hens will develope and continue to develope white in there feathers with age. Some hens never will tho. Some hens will have white down will develope the white feathers, hens...
No way go with Pastel not very popular and a real eye catcher. Just don't go with whites, greys or snowy's like everybody else does they are very competitive. Here is a link to another person's site this not my site and I take no credit for the great ducks they have. Just using it for an...
Many people use different types of waterfowl and chickens for hatching waterfowl eggs. It will work just like clockwork, I know many people that keep a flock of Embdens around just for hatching exotic and domestic waterfowl.
I'm not saying it isn't just going off of my experience from raising them last year. I may be wrong I am not saying I am the know all of Swedish Breeding. But as far as I know they only come in Blue Black and Splash. That being said keep us updated.
