Please help, my chicken expert friends! :love
I have some new pictures of my babies! They are between 4 and 6 weeks old, I think about 5 wks, give or take a few days. I hope these can help y'all tell me what we got. The last batch I got was 3 cockerels and 1 hen too, lol! It appears to me that...
So apparently now have 1 silkie cockerel:idunnoas well as a cochin that is working on crowing at the moment. Total, I will have 4 regular sized girls and 2 banty hens (2 toms too, but I don't count them because they could care less about the whole thing lol). Can I keep the cochin and the silkie...
Any guesses on my two Silkies, Barred Rock and I assume a Cochin or Brahma bantys? The white silkie doesn't have a comb showing yet but has some hair-do going on. The black or blue? (not sure the difference) one has more of a comb showing from what I can tell. I know Silkies are hard to sex and...
I have been wanting turkeys forever and especially since I had to give away my guineas because they started bothering the neighbors after 4 years of staying in our yard, darn things, (released them at a friend's drive-thru safari though :)) So I finally bought 1 tom (jake?) and 1 hen from a...
I am not super picky about breed although i already have one BB Red (best chicken I've ever had) so that would be preferable but as i said breed is not that important.
Thanks!
I've never had anything crested before but here they are, straight from the old TSC Banty bin. Houdan? Oh they have 5 toes. Silkies? But their skin isn't blue. They are a couple of weeks old and VERY hardy and [/IMG]high strung lol. Any ideas?
I am so confused about the little differences between pullets and cockerels! I've read a lot of information on the subject but I'm not actually seeing the difference. Any tips/info about how to tell the difference would be greatly appreciated. Here are some photos on some of the supposed pullets...
My, usually mild-tempered, 1 year old, GLW, Walter (turned out she's not a roo) has been spending an aweful lot of time in the nesting box the last three days and every morning when my husband or i go to collect the eggs there she is fluffing up her feathers and making crazy noises at us when we...
Thes are all 6-7 weeks old...any guesses are appreciated! :-)
Chicken #1
Chicken #2 (Easter Egger, wellsummer?)
Chicken #3
Chicken #4 (4 week old bantam)
I asked TSC what hatchery they used and they told me they didn't know??
Lefty, my Pekin drake, was bit last night by a confirmed cottonmouth, he never would get into the coop last night which I thought very strange, then this morning I found him sitting in his pond (he stayed in there all night) his face is swollen, he is wheezing a little and shaking. He shows...
I am a newbie here so forgive if this has played out but I think it would fun to post some funny (or just cute) chicken pictures.
Dumpling and Dixie
(this photo was an accident, the cats are always put up when I have the babies
