    Neighborhood dog problem

I didn't see the dog yesterday, but I've been walking around the neighborhood to see if I can find it. My neighborhood doesn't have a community website. Until not too long ago, it was considered a 'bad' part of down. It's still up and coming though. I had thought of poison but only because I...

    Neighborhood dog problem

Wow, thanks for all the advice! I never thought about calling animal control. Yea I think I'll look them up. I will certainly ask about some kind of trap. I know it'll be back. What time do your chickens go to bed? (How dark?)

Mine are always roosting about an hour before sunset. I think they get chilly and just decide it's time to go to bed. My poor cochins can't get up to the roost though, I think it's too high. Sometimes one of the other chickens will 'brood' with them at night because they sleep in the nesting box.

    Oregon

Holy cow this is a huge thread! Hey all! I just built the coop for our chickens and still building their run. I'm out in SE Portland in the Lents neighborhood. We bought five chicks about a month ago, but they were from a standard run so we don't know how many roos we have yet. I suspect we...
