    I have a one year old hen that has been broody for about 5 days now. She has been laying on unfertilized eggs and is not eating or drinking that I can see. Should I move her?

    So here is my biggest chick- 2 weeks old. She has just recently started sitting on top of water and feeder. Should I be afraid she can get out of the crate all the way?

    Any thoughts or advantages or not of using shredded paper? My husband has a shredder at work and I thought this might be a good bedding for them? Or are pine shavings or something else better? I have 1 1/2 week olds and so far using pine shavings.

    I am looking for an araucana, rir, sex link any color and a couple Plymouth rocks. Craigslist doesn't show all the breeds I want. First time chicken owner for backyard coop- I would appreciate any advice/info for Louisville area. Thanks!
