    EGLU CUBE OWNERS!

I have had one for four years. My original review is here. I'm still really happy with it. The most important thing to me is that it's easy to clean. I love that the trays just slide out from under the house for weekly cleaning (I line them with newspaper, so the droppings and paper just slide...

Here's a pic of the peeps at 1-2 weeks, and a pic of the white Leghorn doing a little pest control in the garden: The Eglu Cube arrived just in time to put the girls outside. If you're interested in the Eglu Cube, see this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=182478...

    Harry Potter

I'm going to the midnight show with a group of eight. My friends in London went to the world premiere and sent me pics -- I'm jealous! I took my daughter to the midnight release of the last book, and it was really fun to be with a crowd of people who loved the stories as much as we do. I'm...

    Minecraft Who plays it

I bought DD minecraft for her birthday a few days ago...I've barely seen her since. Apparently she's working on building a sheep farm.

    Eglu Cube

The ladder is pretty close to the ground; the chickens should be able to get to it. One issue a couple of us have had is that the chickens seem to have a bit of trouble navigating the ladder itself, so we have zip-tied plastic poultry netting to the ladder, which has fixed the problem.

Any Eglu Cube Owners in Midwest?

I have five regular-sized hens in mine, and they have plenty of room.

Eglu Cube Price Increase - $200 in one day...

It's a perfectly good coop, people. It's easy to clean, it doesn't stink, it doesn't get mites, it doesn't get weather damage, it's well ventilated, it's well insulated, etc. For some reason everyone on this site jumps on the bandwagon to bash these coops, when they have never even seen one in...

Any Eglu Cube Owners in Midwest?

Have you tried contacting Issola? I think she's in a place with "real" winters. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=226864&p=1

I really want an Omlet Eglu Cube- am I nuts?

The Eglu Cube is fabulous. I love mine. It's not just a shed or a plastic playhouse (it's well-insulated and more importantly, properly ventilated for chickens), and it's plenty big (I have five hens in mine). There's no other coop on the planet that's easier to clean -- you just dump the...

Can a nerve problem cause a rash?

Shingles is nerve-related and causes a rash, so I would think it's possible. But then again, that's a virus that travels along nerves, I think....? Either way, I hope he feels better soon.

    Best kind of Pressure Cooker...?

I bought an All-American this year and I am very happy with it. I really like the no-gaskets thing because I don't have to worry about replacement parts.

Chickens out of bed & clucking in middle of night. Why?

Quote: Awwww. All mine do is tell me how confused they were when they found themselves outside in the dark. They won't say how they ended up out there. Thanks for all the responses. I live in suburbia, and the only predators we have are lazy suburban possums, raccoons, and skunks, and I...

Chickens out of bed & clucking in middle of night. Why?

For a couple of days this week, I have woken up to chicken noises in the dead of night. Thinking the chickens are being attacked, I have run outside to find them just fine, but with some of them walking around their run rather than inside their coop (I don't close the coop door at night). I...

    Eglu Cube

peas&bees : I have moved on from the idea of an Eglu Cube because of the recommendations here. We are now spending our time looking through various coop plans as well as some larger ready mades. I am wondering if the Eglu Cube is ever an appropriate choice? I love my Eglu Cube. We live in a...

Newbie Seeking Coop Suggestions; EDIT: Show Me Your Doghouse Coops!

Welcome, LanaBat! I LOVE my Eglu Cube. Here's my review of it with some pics. I keep five chickens in it and they are happy and healthy. Other users have been very satisfied with theirs as well, as far as I know. It's heavy-duty, well insulated, well-ventilated, and I am convinced that...

Anyone own an "Eglu" chicken coop/run? Thoughts?!

I've had an Eglu Cube for a year now and I love it. I did what MCmomof3 did and made a bigger run (we have the "extended run" but it's still a little small for 5 chickens). The walls of the Cube are well-ventilated and fully insulated (unlike a storage box or child's playhouse -- though the...

Planting/farming fruit on 1/3 an acre?

There are lots of low-chill varieties of fruit trees/bushes/vines that don't take up much space. I just added a bunch of new fruit trees to my backyard (our property is also about 1/3 of an acre). Some of the stuff we have: blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries, plum, pluot (a plum/apricot...
