Hi, this morning my chicks hatched. The first one out has a bloody string thing coming out of her vent. She's acting fine. A lot has come out already. I'm worried and really unsure. It's my first batch that actually hatched. :( I moved her into the house into a separate area. Any ideas?!

Did your chicken make it? If not I'm very sorry for your loss. People think its just a chicken and if you lose one its not a big deal but after a while you get attached to them.

The rest of my chickens seem fine they are walking around eating laying eggs. I'm going to worn them soon. And I cleaned the coop and got a new water can.

My chicken was acting like that too. I never found out what was wrong though she passed away this morning but she was laying down a lot but would walk around a little. I was very confused.

I'm really hoping my other chickens don't get whatever she had? Is there just a possibility of old age?
