    chicken toys ??

I'm new to this chicken raising, learning/researching tons a day it seems! :) I was wondering if the (empty) cardboard paper towel roll would be an ok toy. I threw one in and my 7 week old's enjoyed trying to stand on it and take turns carrying it around. After, I thought maybe I shouldn't keep...

Thank you BeeKissed, I didn't think about their long term and weight on the front of the boxes...a mount bar is a good idea!

I love when I opens the coop door in the mornings and start saying good morning out loud they run over and trample my around my feet. Show us your nest boxes! Ingenous design post it here!

I love viewing all your pictures and reading everyone's thoughts and opinion. I'm new at chicken raising and BYC. My girls are only 7 weeks old so I've been utilizing this time to put thought into my nesting boxes. I have two questions: One, does the nesting boxes need to be higher or lower...

    New to BYC

Thanks. We are starting with 6 BA and 6 BO's. Thinking 2-3 of the BA are roos though. I'm disappointed because in our city limits we can't keep them. They are the most comical out of the bunch, I love their personalities.

Is this Black Astralorp a hen or roo?

The combs & wattles are the same size and color amongst the 6 I have. The only thing that looks different compared to the others is the body size and longer tail. She is about 6-7 weeks old. I'm new at this, thanks. I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong area.
