Scabby Rooster on Burger King commercial

I always wonder about their choice of rooster when that commercial comes on, too. I'm thinking they had to have made the choice deliberately. Perhaps the rooster is supposed to be a teenager...and has bad acne?

How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

It was a weird day. I had 6 eggs from the 3 that are laying (out of 8). 2 were normal eggs, 1 was sausage shaped, and the rest were rubbers.

Ameraucana or Easter Egger? Pullets or Roos?

May I jump in and ask about my "Ameraucana"? I was just explaining to my husband that she could very well be an EE. I don't mind either way, I just hope she'll give us blue or green eggs. As a baby... And now...(about 18 weeks) Thanks!

New Layer Trying to Go Broody?

Thanks! I figured as much but as a new chicken mama I guess I was being a bit of a worry-wart. I've been able to find existing threads on here for all my other questions, just not this very specific question. Today, she already seems a lot more "normal." And, I believe I have another layer...

She behaved normally the rest of the day. On Sunday morning I found that she had laid two rubber eggs from her roost. I understand this...

    Greetings from Leesburg, Va!

Thanks for the offer. We just bought our chicks this past weekend at Southern States in Purcellville. We were hoping to start small with 4, but like you, had to buy 6. Oh well. We're considered "in town" and our house was built LONG before HOA's so we don't have them to deal with. I think I...

    Hiya!

Thank you so much for the tips. We don't actually have a pasty butt problem. One chick needed to be cleaned up when we first brought her home, but other than that they've all been just fine. More than anything my boys just reacted to some of the how-to videos I was watching before we went to...

    Greetings from Leesburg, Va!

Hi! I know this is an older post but I'm a new member and also in Leesburg. I was just curious if you ever found specifics about town ordinances. I've found info for Loudoun, but didn't know if we have anything different in town. Thanks! :)

    Hiya!

Hi All! I'm a new member and totally new to raising chickens. We live in Northern Virginia. Our 6 chicks (White Leghorns, Golden Comets, and Dixie Rainbows) are about a week and a half old. We will be ordering a pre-fab coop/run...just need to make the final choice. My two boys (8 and 6) are...
