    Has anyone hatched out of cartons instead of laying the eggs on their side? I've had issues with them getting kicked around from the early hatched chicks.

    That was actually my first hatch in the middle of April and they're production reds, I had 1 black sex link. This hatch was all reds with 2 black sex links. I only have 1 barred rock hen that was givin to me and was curious about black sex links so I put them in the bator

    The others are doing great! Had a snake get in and eat 1 of my 3 wk old pullets. Not having very good luck the last few days... But the good news is the snake didn't make it out alive lol

    Nice, I just had to cut the umbilical cord that was completely wrapped around a chicks legs. It may not make it...

    I have 41 buff orpington eggs due on May 18th. Just hatched out 29 production reds yesterday and today.

    Thanks! This is my first hatch, started at 2 this morning and so far I have 20 out of 27 hatched and they're still going!! Here's a few pics of my little ones. [/IMG]

    I have some red sex link hens fromTSC bred with full RIR rooster, I have chicks hatching today and was wondering what breed that would make the chicks? Would it bring the RIR back out or what?
