We did have them on 16% layer feed, but just switched them over on Tuesday to an 18% extra egg production crumble. That was the highest % I found at the feed store.

Thanks for the advice. I just checked them for the night and she was on the roost not the nest, so I guess she's not truly broody. So is it just a matter of time? Do I allow her a few eggs even day and then collect at night if she's roosting?

We had this happen to us too. Fortunately, the pullet had only recently gotten herself stuck when we noticed and we're able to get her out safely. The feeder had gotten low. That's why we think she got in so far. We make sure they are now always very full and haven't had any other issues. Sorry...

This may not be the right place to post this question, but I have a 13 week old rooster who is missing both his sickle feathers. I don't know if they fell out or were pulled. He seems fine otherwise. We have 7 pullets with him. They seem fine too. Haven't noticed anyone picking on him. Any ideas?
