I have a bronze hen.."Gertie" her feet are swollen. It is not bumblefoot. Thinking she is too heavy. Does anyone have a suggestion for how I can get the swelling down? And what feed would be recommended? She lives with chickens, we joke that she thinks she's just a big chicken. Any suggestions...

We have a goose that looks just like the one in the picture. If you are talking about the "black" knob on its head.....I think it's supposed to be there???

I would suggest throwing scratch inside the cage at night to get them in there. We actually use dry cob. They don't have their layer pellets during the day when they free range so by the afternoon they are ready for the grain. When we throw it in there they come running.

Hi! So we free range some of our hens. When we introduce new hens we let them free range with eachother then after a couple of days we pen them up together.
