Hey everyone I am searching for a price range to sell my trio of cayugas. They're pictured in this thread, have blue, green and purple feathers and are 3 months old.
I'm curious on what is the best feed choice for phoenix chickens? I heard they need extra protein for tail growth and was wondering what percent would be appropriate.
I'm also worried about one of them. Her/his tail points towards the side. Idk if she/he is holding it that way or if there is something wrong. Plus she/he has trouble holding her wings beside the body. She/he can hold them how they're supposed to be but they're almost always hanging out. I...
I have 6 that are 9 or 10 weeks old. I sit out and watch them play constantly but I only hear one that sounds like "he" has a cold. The others sound like my Abigail (adult pekin). I'm just finding it hard to believe I could've gotten that lucky.
Those differences where true on mine. I bought 5 at a week old & knew I had 2 pullets & 2 roos before they was two weeks. That 5th one was the sneeky one & he looked like a pullet but in another couple days he looked like a lil roo.
Thank you so much. They're all doing great. And although the 8th one was introduced over 12 hrs after the others hatched they took to it easily by cleaning its fuzz! Lol it was pretty funny. Poor little guy didn't know what to think at first. Now they're all happy lil puff balls!
Here they are! 7 perfect ducklings! I set these eggs from my Pekin pair (Ferdinand & Abigail). I set 10 eggs, 7 have hatched, 1 is still trying hard & 2 stopped developing :(. Breaks my heart that they was so close to hatch! Poor babies!
I have no idea what I'm doing. I seeked help earlier on this thread. I kept my humidity as close to 50% during & on lockdown I bumped it to 70%. Which of course the chicks kept raising it for me :).
I got them from a local guy that hatches his own. He does sell sussex. I don't know where he gets his eggs. I've just decided it doesn't matter to me because they are sweethearts. I of course can't keep all, but with the way they've been raised the others will make great pets for anybody. And...
Oh that's good to hear. I just couldn't believe they was already pipping. I've hatched quail so I know what u mean about suspense & waiting. It's nerve racking to me. The hardest part for me is making my husband leave them alone. I can usualky curb my enthusiasm by watching through the windows...
Today is lockdown for my first batch off pekins. I went to move my second batch to another incubator and noticed a lot of my ducks are already pipping. The humidity dropped of course because I had opened the lid but I got it up for lockdown. Will they be okay? Its at 75%. Before hand it was...
