Hi all,
Lowe's is discontinuing Black Jack #57 and replacing it with Henry products. Has anyone used Henry Wet Patch for their coop floor?
Thanks in advance!
My chick is back to normal!!! I gave her vitamins and several times a day did range of motion exercises on her legs. It took about 2.5 days but she is back running around and perching on a stick. Thanks for the help!
Yes, she is in a brooder with 3 other chicks. They have lots of room to move around and are being fed commercial chick crumbles. She has been bright and alert but I noticed she hasn't been moving around as much the past couple of days. Today she can't stand and doesn't even try to close her...
I have 2.5 week chick that was walking fine and, in the past couple of days, has not been using her legs much. Is is possible to develop splay leg at this age? Her legs are not splayed out to the side but appear very weak and she does not wrap her feet around anything at all.
Thanks for...
Does anyone know a hatchery that sells Hatchery that sells Cinnamon Queens from Silver Laced Wyandotte Hen with a Rhode Island Red or New Hampshire Rooster?
Thanks for any info!!
I am trying to break a broody hen and this is my first time so I have a few questions:.
Will a hen lay an egg while in the wire crate with no bedding?
My hen does not seem to be eating or drinking well. Is this normal while in the wire crate?.
How do I know when to take her out and...
What is the difference between a major and minor molt? I have 2 hens that look a bit bedraggled and have lost some feathers on their head and neck.
How do I know if this is a molt or mites? I am new to chickens and trying to provide the best care I can!
What is the average number of eggs laid by a hen per week. I have 5 (3 Black Austrolorps and 2 Delawares) and I am getting 5-6 eggs per hen per week. That seems like a good number to me but I am a newbie and am not sure.
Not sure if this is relevant, but I added a nest box on the side of the coop at the same time I changed the roost position. They all have adapted to the new nest box and my 4 other hens have no problem with the change in roost position.
UPDATE: I have two Delawares. One started laying at 23 weeks and the other at 25 weeks. I have 3 Black Australorps, as well, and they all began laying at 23 weeks.
