Ok so my hen is broody again... day and night just sitting.. so I went to check on them and one of my others was in the nest with her. I have two nesting boxes and 3 hens. But for some reason they are just use the one...So the broody one hogs up the one they all use. It has affected the amount...

hmmmm very strange... yep mine are definitely cochins I do remember atleast one of them being cleaned legged but I can be wrong about all of them.

My Cochins were clean legged while they were that size.. I did not notice feathers on their legs until they were weeks old...??

yeah give them some time... they will get there.. there is definitely nothing wrong with them.

yeah they only been laying since January.. and it is very rare I see a deformed egg.. maybe 3 total I have seen... thanks for your reply

Well once in awhile I notice that an egg has almost a flat side.. almost like it was soft and when she layed it in the nest in became flat... very strange... anyone get these ? I will try and post a picture of it....

I am in the same boat.. I have 3 hens not even a year old yet and we recently rebuilt their coop and they have not laid in two days. I normally would get 3-6 eggs per day total from all three... I am hoping they are not laying because of the change in the coop.. ?? I did have a broody and she...
