Flock quit laying....anything i can do???

I have read up on all the reasons why they quit laying I just haven't come across anything that says if there is anything I can do about it. Seems like there should be something I can do...I know they are not machines. I want them to be less stressed. I want to understand more I guess.

Flock quit laying....anything i can do???

They are a mixed flock. Two RR, a buff,a wyandotte, a bantam cochin and the youngest are frizzle a barred rock and an australorps. They get layer feed and I mix in corn and grit and some oyster shell. Also scraps from the kitchen, mostly veggies and old breads.

Flock quit laying....anything i can do???

I have 7 hens, 5 of laying age (about a year old) and 2 newbies (not yet started, only about 5 months old) and one roo. This spring we moved the 5 into a bigger coop and they have a large run instead of running loose in the yard and there was a big drop in laying. Then in June we added the two...

    worried about my rescue!

Update! I think she looks a million times better. I treated her for lice. She gets along pretty well with all the others even though she is clearly lowest in the order. Now to figure out how old she is! Thanks for all your help. I love this site!

    worried about my rescue!

Oh I know I should have quarantined her :(. I feel awful that I didn't but the day I brought her home was we was the same day that we laid my husband's sweet grandmother to rest. After the burial I had a house full of family and was emotionally out of sorts. I'm definitely watching all (6) of...

    worried about my rescue!

I got her this past Saturday. Yes she is slowly warming up to us, ie: coming when I call and eating when I toss food/corn out to the others. They haven't been terribly welcoming to her, poor girl, but the aggression seems to have died down now. The first night she flew over the fence and was in...

    worried about my rescue!

I also want to add that I believe she has suffered some frost bite. She is missing a claw from her back toe on one of her feet.

    worried about my rescue!

I will get a picture of her standing tomorrow! But as far as her eyes go, she always looks like just like that. Likes she's about to fall asleep. That's why I wondered if she might be a bit swollen. Is there anything I should look for in her eyes? I really appreciate your help!

    worried about my rescue!

This is Gertrude Featherbottom. Her whole flock was wiped out by a wild critter. I friend asked me to take her in. She a sweet gal but she looks rather sickly to me. She has been treated for lice and mites. However I'm concerned about the white on her face and she appears swollen. I have no...

Please tell me she's not a roo

Oh thank you! I can't stand the thought of getting rid of any of them but I read that too many roosters can be hard on the hens and I really don't want two guys crowing in the back yard.my backyard neighbor already has three roos. They all get going and make quite a noise. I love it but the...

Please tell me she's not a roo

I only have 5 chickens. All were supposed to be hens but then Lucy the silkie started crowing and now she is Rocco! This is Reba! She is about 4 1/2 months old...hatched the beginning of May. Recently her comb has gotten much larger and she isn't aggressive at all but she's not exactly shy when...

    What is this????

It wasn't alive and it was stuck in her skin like just like where a feather would be. I didn't pull it out I just cut it as close as could to her skin because pulling on it made her begin to bleed.

    What is this????

My daughter discovered this weird wormy looking thing under some chest feathers on my one of my hens. It was attached to her like a feather and when I cut it off she didn't act like it hurt but it did bleed a little. I'm really new at this and I wasn't even sure how word a search for what it...
