    Fading Rooster Comb

I've searched other threads and can't really find much for roosters. We've had our bantam since April and he was about 4-5 weeks at that time. A few days ago I noticed that his comb seems faded and he is not as active as he typically can be (he will usually come out of the coop and charge at us...

    Gender Question

Yes! That's what ours do. We have 2 brahmas & 2 RIR besides these two and they all look at them like "you have lost your mind!" Lol And I'm finding quickly how addictive chickens are. I wish we could have more in the city. I find myself reading forums for fun, haha

    Gender Question

Oh wow! Lol. This one has been the flighty one of all the hicks since the get-go. We had them free ranging a bit today and he was off strutting his stuff. He'd just randomly take off running. Crazy birds, haha

    Gender Question

Thanks! I can definitely see the boy in #1. He walks around all cocky, lol. #2 is more of a pushover. Guess we will find out eventually!

    Gender Question

They're around 9 weeks old now. Our city ordinance has a rule of only allowing 6 chickens total, including a rooster. So we planned to only keep one rooster, if any. I had a talk with my son yesterday and he's voted #1 out if both are roosters. Which of course is what we will do so he can keep...

    Breed identity?

I have 2 chicks, around 8-9 weeks old, and am unsure of the breed. We bought them at a farm store and the gentleman who placed them in the tub had gone for the day without leaving a sign. The guy that followed knew that one breed in tub was bantam but wasn't sure which or what the other was. I'm...

    New Chicken Momma

Hi all! My husband and I decided to embark on the adventure of chickens for eggs. We have 6 chicks that are all about 8-9 weeks old now (got them about 4 weeks ago). We have 2 bantams, 2 RIR, and 2 "unknowns". The 2 unknowns were in a tub with another breed and the guy knew one of the breeds...
