we do know it was taken somewhere between 1am and 3am...so it was definitely dark. everything ive read says a great horned owl can nab something between 8 and 10bls.
Well thanks for all your input, we do now believe it was a Great Horned owl that took my duck..We can tell where it swooped in and took him, there were just a few feathers. :( We will now make them an enclosed area outside so they can still roam outside but be safe. :) thank you all.

do chickens still lay eggs when molting, this is my second year with chickens and I have one molting, I heard when they molt they no longer lay eggs EVEER..is this true>? I have only had the one molting for a year..i thought chickens laid eggs for 4 or 5 yrs.
well I walked the property and so no feathers..some say owls just grab and go and now since I see no feathers anywhere near any of the fences where a coyote or couger would go under or over.. I see a few feathers near the pool area so now im thinking an owl had to take it.. It disappears...
