The darker egg is almost the really dark color of a Copper Maran where as the other one is a light brown. I've long suspected that my RIRs were mixed although I was told they weren't. Their coloring is a bit off from what I've been told...lol.
Yes!! My RIRs finally started laying! Woot, woot!! Well two of them anyways....lol. They 22 wks old which I know is right on time but I raised them from babies and the last 5 months has seemed like a lifetime! Lol

Yeah it's going to get soooo hot! I'm worried because I have to leave town for 4-5 days and the only person I could find to look after my chickens and goats doesn't know anything about them. :-/
I've also been giving them chilled watermelon and such. And to encourage them to drink more I'm going to go get some black oil sunflower seeds and put them in their water so they drink more as they are going for the seeds. And they have a fan too...lol.
