Thanks. In an effort to understand more about chickens, what makes you say that 1 and 4 boys? The eggs all came from a local farm, and were hatched in my daughter's classroom. There was no breed specification.
Thank you! It does look like I posted pics of the same bird in the first and last shots. I may post one more of the 4th chicken, although he/she is the same breed, and looks similar to, the bird in photos 1 and 4. So it's likely another roo of mixed breed.
Thanks for the input! They are all 10 weeks old: We know the hatch date. It's difficult to see, but #3, the black and white chicken, has white legs and a fairly large comb. I know there are breeds similar to barred rocks, but with white legs... Also difficult to see are the feathers on the legs...
I have a feeling we ended up with 3 roos out of the 4 chicks we took home. I hope not, but at least it would be great to know what breeds we have! Any wisdom would be much appreciated.

Thanks so much for the replies! Shallow pans of water for wading is an excellent idea, and I can handle putting ice into their drinking water. It would be lovely to have the bathroom back:)
