~*Sweet Cheeks*~ :
Good grief - you put the chickens before the coop.
I have ten chickens - 9 wks old now in a 12 x 12. By the time you put the roosts, hang there feeder and waterer, have any storage there's not much room to move around with all the chickens running around.
You want room to...
As I was comparing Layer Pellets for my hens, I found that the the best ones are a little different. One has less Lysine but more crude fiber and vis versa for the other. I was just wondering what is more important for their diet and producing of eggs. Thanks!
I ordered more chicks from a feed store (special order) and had 10 golden sex-links in the order, but the hatchery couldn't send them so they sent 1 chick for free but did not say what breed it was.
It is completely yellow with a brown spot/patch on the top of its head.
Does anyone know what...
Just keep in mind that the sq footage for each bird should be more of a guideline.. back when I was a kid there was no books or "specifications" to follow and everyone seemed to own chickens just fine.
Good luck

Those were both very helpful posts. Thanks.
I think I am going to put chicken wire in between the two slots in my horse trailer and put the young ones and one side and the older ones on the other side so they can see each other. (Since I haven't built my coop yet)
Again, Thanks!

I have some chicks that are 3 weeks old as of today. And I will be getting some more day old chicks on May 1st, the other chicks will then be a little over 4 weeks old at that time.
What would be the best approach to introducing day old chicks with 4 week old chicks.. Should I wait for the Day...
Hello,
I have 40 chicks that are getting to the point to where they need to get moved to a coop in the next few weeks. I just finished designing the plan for my coop and I was just wanting to get opinions and ideas on if my coop is big enough or not.
The coop is going to be 10x10 feet...
