No foot stamping but they are very tame, follow me everywhere I cant work in the garden when they are out cause they step right where I'm trying to dig, plant, weed, whatever, a worm could appear at any time! The ones that squat have been laying for a while, looking forward to my Ameracaunas...
One of my hens did the same thing, I went to check the nest and she hadn't layed an egg by her usual time, I looked just in time to see her lay an egg right there on the ground like she was just having a poop, now she hasn't layed since and that was a least a week ago!
Racoons for sure! they have little hands and reach right through and grab what they can! FYI, just a little shocking you left the one legged ones alive! Put the poor things out of there misery! Racoons are awful!!!
Beautiful coop! The run looks the same as my 10x10 chicken run (Sold as a dog run) my only advice is racoon proof it!!! Wire roof and burried fencing, 6" down tucked under the fence and about a foot or so wide. Trust me it is so worth it! Nothing worse than seeing what a coon will do to your...

Im no expert, but Im guessing they will lay where they are comfortable and the appropriate nesting boxes are. They know where home is (The coop) and will lay there when they are ready, good luck!
I just picked up 2 6 month old hens to replace the ones the darn racoons got and they are picking on my other chickens, (Younger and smaller) will this ease as they get to know each other or when the young'uns get full size or are my little ones doomed?
