I got them with the idea that they would go into the barn, scratch around, eat flies and NOT be able to get in the water trough. I think that would be good, but they are so precious I am afraid something would step on them. Maybe if I am successful in raising MORE I can let the drakes do that...
I only have 2 ducks so far, in the small chicken yard. they already have more personality than anything else there. they are silkie ducks. the mallard-type one is evidently a female, her name is Savannah, and the white one, Willy.
I think he is a drake, as his voice is changing " peep peep peep...
