Hubby just picked up this rooster as a surprise to me n the kids but never asked type and age etc.. I have 2 hens, one he's already had his way with, plus 6 Guineas. He's friendly and huge n let's my 8 year old hold him. Any help on breed and info would be awesome!

I'm in northern Mn and it is 2 degrees F. My 5 usually spend their evening in a fenced 15 by 15 xog kennel n then roam all day, but I had to move their food n water to a place I noticed they go when its snowing n blowing. They took to it great, no probs, tho last night they decided to roost way...

But when they're used to the routine, can't say I blame them Even their cooing purrs turned to crying then as I left they started yelling at me, screaming more like! I felt so bad live them dearly the deranged weirdly awesome birds!!! 1st time bird owner n even my goldenretrievers who are gpa...

Though they may turn their nose at the broc, finicky kids! They love lettuces too but of course that's gone too, lol. But thanks again! I really appreciate it! They are so dramatic when they don't have something they want!! Even though they ate the last around 4 pm, they acted devastated at 6...

To note, it wasn't carelessness that led to this. Its N. Mn. and hubby is hunting and decided to stay longer so I'm stuck w no car until tomorrow.

I agree with leaving them locked up, but wasn't sure if they should be 12 wks, 16wks...?? It was a novel event the other day but pretty neat watching them! I moved them to a larger area yesterday so they can get what they need ie exercise, stretching their wings, roosting foraging etc. Enclosed...

Awwwww, that sux! Poor mama:( I'm sorry for your loss, truly. It goes to show that they have their own thoughts in any given situations whith sitting outin the rain! Goofy, wonder why they do that???

P.S. They are now 7-8 wks old. Have had them for 3 wks and got them specifically for ticks as o was diagnosed w Lymes dearest 2 months ago. Well not fair, I've always loved birds, I save n foster baby wild birds as people need, total accidental occupation there but thats another story!! ;)p

I am bran spankin new at this too and I handled them for 1st wk or so that I had them (have 5 that were 4-5 wks when bought) and they would freak but boy, they, when left to their own decision come right out when I call them (here babies) and love salad mix when I offer and aren't scared to...
