I found this yesterday, I got it for my dog.
We put it on Henrietta and set her down. She got scared by the bells and ran to get away from them. the faster she ran, the louder they rang. She kept trying to run to the other hens, but they run in fear. We where laughing so hard we could not...
I talk to them, but they only ask me a couple things.
Where is the food?
After I give them some food they ask
"where is the rest of it?"
Let us out! too.

Well I am an Arizona native, and I am not use to it. AC, AC repairmen make really good money here. I mean REALLY GOOD. Also humid to us would be about 40%. We start to complain about 35% humidity.
For our chickens we kept a mister in the run. We would also hose down the grass...
Taquito. My EE, we call her that cause when it was time for them to start laying my BIL was saying you better hurry up or we will make taquitos. She looked up and just clucked away, like "whatever"
Then Lacey, my other EE. We named her that cause her pattern on her body looks like lace...
Do silkies do ok in the heat?
I live in the desert, where it can reach 118 or more during summer time.
I want a silkie, but not if it can't handle the heat.
My two bantam roos. White one is Dusky. Black/white one is Tori, he has started to bite us. Me and my mom have bruises on our hand from him getting us. We think it is funny cause here is this little rooster who thinks he is hot stuff.
My 8 year old niece walks around holding her chickens. She collects their feathers and hopes to design fashions to match their feather patterns.(mostly the ee and barred rock)
Then she will walk around with clothes that matcher her accessory chicken.
Chickens love it when she picks them up...
I have EE named Taquito.
She is well adjusted. And a chick they teased for her name. But when she grew up and started to lay pretty eggs. she realized how special her name is.
I can totally relate (except for the egg laying part). My name is Kismet and I was teased horribly was a kid. Now...
I did not see a thread for us to post funny things.
I will start of course.
My RIR, she started to lay about two weeks ago. Well I looked in the coop through the window and her and one of my Buffs where sitting in the nest together. They did'nt see me. Well my RIR (Reddee) was laying...
It was 118 here yesterday.
When I let my girls out, I put the sprinkler on the grass for like five minutes. One to get the hot water out of the hose, and two to wet the grass. Then I leave the sprinkler on really low in a water dish. I have to keep it low cause they are afraid of it.
Well...
I'm sorry.
I had a scare today.
I was gone all day, and I got home at four pm to let my girls freerange.
I opened the door and noticed their five gallon waterer was BONE DRY. I had filled it before I had left. I also leave the hose running a bowl in the shade when I let my girls freerange...
I am watching my sister's house this week. And their two dogs and 8 chickens.
Well I have to go to their house in morning, let the chickens out and feeds the dogs. Then stay there so the dogs can be inside of the house during the hot part of they day. *I have my laptop and they have a WII* The...
They make me laugh. I love animals.
The way they run thinking you got food.
My one chicken we rename Tarzana cause she like umm "crows" out of no where. She is really loud too, you can hear her at the other end of the house, and our coop is the far corner of the back yard. (she lays eggs...
