It was a good shake and I only have 12 eggs in a large space so lots of room to roll. I'm going to hope it gave them just a little jiggle! Thank you!! My first batch, I'm a nervous mama ;)
My 5 year old son shook the incubator while trying to look at the eggs and caused them to move around some. Will this be harmful the chicks? A few of them were just starting to pip.
I've been trying to go natural in the hopes we can kick it. So far they all seem happy other than some sneezing here and there, some coughing and runny poops. I've always thought as long as the animal is eating and drinking is s good sign
Just wanted to say hello from Bozeman. New to the group and new to chickens, other than when i was 3 yrs old and my mom would make me go to into the hen house and stick my hand under the ladies to collect the eggs. I can still remember the feel of their soft feather and the warmth. I have...
I have a white crested polish roo and 15 hens of basic variety, RIR ,Black star.. I cannot keep them from pulling out his head feathers. Once he is bald in the center, they leave him alone, but as soon as I can get those feathers growing back, I see blood and pecking. I did better just leaving...
So much to learn and I'm loving it!! Thank you for the info :). The original goal was to get some eggs and pets, but I had no idea how much I would fall in love!

I've tried that too. It works about as well as the blu kote but the blu kote seems to last a little longer. Both deter them enough to let the feathers start growing, but then I think they see the feathers poke out and peck at them. They are not the meanest but they are persistent.
Thanks Kelsie! I do put on blu kote. I've tried no pick to but the blu kote seems to work better. My ladies are just really persistent. As soon as the feathers start to grow back, they are picking them out. At times he has bled and they don't seem to go crazy over it and they also don't...
I've been getting tons of great information from this site and decided it was way past time to join. I am new to chickens, other than when I was 4-5 yrs old and was the one who collected the eggs and beat the mean roosters off because all the adults were too scared . I'm now 37 so it's been a...
