Cobalt in wormer. Is it safe?

Thanks Eggcessive, I'm in Australia and I don't think we have those products here. We do have tapeworm - I've seen it!! We also have a very high resistance to any of the 'azole family. If we use it here, it has to be in 5-7 consecutive days.

Very sick pullet, need some help

There are many things that look like Mareks. I completely agree with having the vet do a necropsy. Some where on here is a post about things that look like Mareks, which is great. This article is also helpful but I think thread is better. i'm really sorry you lost your girl, even though it was...

Cobalt in wormer. Is it safe?

Cobalt in wormer?? Hi everyone.I need some advice. On moving to a new property 2 hrs away from my previous property, I have discovered that Ivermectin, even used concurrently with Levamisole in the water, is not very effective. I've done the 3 x 10 days apart, twice. I've even fed them garlic...

Comment by 'lenadriver' in article 'Treating Bumblefoot - A Simple Surgical Approach'

Good on you BReeder! I just wanted to share that Colloidal Silver knocks out the infection like nothing else. I do everything the way you did it but found the Silver much better at getting the infection cleared out and the healing quicker.

Comment by 'lenadriver' in article 'The Great Big Giant Marek's Disease FAQ'

Hi, Whilst Mareks isn't transmitted vertically (hen to her eggs), the dander can still be on the eggs, even if you incubate. So you need to fumigate the eggs. Commercially, they now inject the vaccine into the egg itself on Day 18 to increase efficacy. I really appreciate your article, thank...

Australians - Where are you all????

Odds are good that you will have waited until spring. They are late a maturer. Once they hit about 12 months, they're awesome layers. What was your result?

Need to fatten up skinny hen

Cooking is great but it does change nutritional value- each grain is different but if they're getting everything they need from their prepared feeds, it's a good way to go. Fermenting and/ or sprouting grain is less work and apparently they get more of every thing that grain has to offer and eat...

Linebreeding an extremely rare breed flock

I've seen people explain how they have done this with chickens but got a little twisted up trying to work out kinship coefficients. I've managed to draw a diagram of everything you've said so far here. What happens next? Talking chickens, not plants!

Any chance you could do a diagram to go along with this?

Linebreeding an extremely rare breed flock

Toe punching (cringe) is the most reliable, as rings do come off sometimes and then, at best, you're only making an educated guess who it is when you have a handful of young stock together or larger breeding flocks later.

    Levamisole Dosage and Gapeworm

Yup,screwed up. Bloody memory! 1/4 tsp =1 gram:hmm:hmm:hmm:th:he When treating infestation, treat 17- 21 days later. For broader spectrum ( which includes gapeworm), use 36 mg per kilo of body weight, in the amount of water they would drink over six hours. ( now I couldn't figure out why it was...

Crossing Blue Laced Red Wyandotte with Silver Laced Wyandotte

Isn't that interesting. Her body is beautifully laced but her breast not quite as good and the boys have beautifully laced breasts!!! We need a clever geneticist to put it all in layman's terms. They're all lovely any way
