Did I really get a Dutch Booted Bantam from Tractor Supply?

A mille fleur D'Uccle without the beard/muffs could be possible from a hatchery like Hoovers. I didn't know that's who they got their chicks from but it means D'Uccles are the only choice. Will the speckling come in later? I expected her to have it already since the porcelain hen has some. Thanks!

What color is this chick with a blueish grey head/neck?

Thanks guys. Since this chick has muffs/beard, I'm leaning towards the blue/gold birchen Orpington/Silkie mix as she has very large muffs/beard but no crest. The blue/gold rooster has a partial crest and some red leakage on his wings. Splash with red leakage could be possible. The pictures...

Did I really get a Dutch Booted Bantam from Tractor Supply?

I picked up two chicks from the bantam bin at Tractor Supply this summer just for fun. One turned out to be a Porcelain D'Uccle hen. The other is a booted hen with vulture hocks and the longest foot feathers I have ever seen on a chicken in person. She has a completely clean face. She is tan...

What color is this chick with a blueish grey head/neck?

I hatched out a group of eggs earlier this summer, and there is one chick that is unusually colored. The father is blue and gold (split for chocolate from a chocolate partridge bantam Orpington). The two strongest possibilities for mother are a black Silkie/Bantam Orpington hen and a blue/gold...

Craigslist rooster - how can I replicate this color?

Excellent, thanks! I appreciate the help.

Craigslist rooster - how can I replicate this color?

I just like the look of him, that's all. The color doesn't need to breed true, but I assume he would pass one copy of the barred/cuckoo gene to any offspring, regardless of color?

Craigslist rooster - how can I replicate this color?

Thanks. How do I add the New Hampshire color back once I've added the barring/cuckoo? Looks like the first generation would be black barred/cuckoo regardless of hen/rooster color.

Craigslist rooster - how can I replicate this color?

I saw this rooster on Craigslist and love his color. I realize it isn't official/SQ or anything like that, but I like it. What color(s) is this? I've been playing around with the chicken color calculator and the closest I've come is Buff Cuckoo. I'm not sure if the red in the wings is...

Help entering this rooster in the chicken genetics calculator

When crossed with a clean legged cuckoo/barred bantam hen, the pullets were black and the one cockerel was cuckoo/barred with leakage. Pullets were black, one with a full crest. Various amounts of foot feathers. When crossed with a Gold Laced Wyandotte hen, pullets were mostly black with a a...

Help entering this rooster in the chicken genetics calculator

I am trying to figure out how to enter this rooster in the chicken genetics calculator. I attached a screenshot of as close as I've got so far. I'm trying to remove the red from the wings. I've also attached some pictures of the rooster in question. Breeding is unknown, going strictly off...

Newly acquired chicks - sour milk smell from mouth, slight nasal discharge, very occasional sneeze/s

I have been leaving chick starter out for them 24/7, but tonight I will take it away and see what their crops look like in the morning tomorrow. I checked on everyone this morning after I fed the other chickens. One of the Silkie chicks had a slight nostril blockage on one side. I swabbed it...

Newly acquired chicks - sour milk smell from mouth, slight nasal discharge, very occasional sneeze/s

Hi everyone! I'm infrequent poster but a frequent reader - this site is full of great information about all sorts of things. In that light, I would love some feedback about the health of my new chicks. I obtained four chicks from a breeder in the next county over. Two of them are pet...

Freezing temps - should I keep chickens in coop?

I feed layer crumbles mixed with some oats and BOSS, and I just make sure they always have some available in their run. They also get snacks of scrambled eggs and warm oatmeal more often. They have a pasture to forage in during the day, but once the grass is gone, they will get greens in their...

Freezing temps - should I keep chickens in coop?

Mine don't like the wind ether. Even though they were out and about in their fenced pasture yesterday, they spent most of the time out the wind somewhere. My coop has 3 different wood perches made from tree branches that are wide enough for them to sit on their feet and they are good about...

    Golden Laced Wyandotte Thread!

The first chicks I bought were a pair of GLW pullets from the local feed store. I lost one to dog next door, but the remaining hen has turned out to be awesome. She is fairly quiet and gets along well with the others. I wouldn't say she is super friendly, but will tolerate being held once she is...

    Help identifying these colors?

Hey guys, I've been lurking around for awhile just reading but figured I'd finally join. :) I have 6 chickens at the moment - two Black Australorp hens, one Gold Laced Wyandotte hen, one Partridge Rock hen, one unknown tiny hen, and an unknown rooster. The tiny hen and the rooster came from...
