I ordered fertile eggs since I have some chickens that have gone broody they where mailed on the 10th and I hope to have them by the 14th. Should I put them right under the hen or let them rest a day. Also should I separate the hen with the eggs or will the rest of the flock accept the newborn...
You might want to check YouTube at texaspreper2 did for a greenhouse I believe it would be easy to convert what he did to a chicken coop I wish I had seen his video before I did my coop it would have saved me me a lot of time and money
Crows will chase away a hawk and don't tend to bother with chickens if you are in a area close to the city you could try to attract them. They don't show up in the country because farmers would shoot at them to keep them away from gardens and they where smart enough to realize people don't tend...
Just put mine out also from McMurry 4 weeks old temps during day here are in the 90s and at night not going much lower then70 when I ordered I planned it this way they should be fine I have heat lamp at night to be sure
Finished securing the coop with hardware cloth and the chicks are out there now. Going to have light on at night for them but temps here are only going down to upper 60s at night so im thinking in a week they won't need it anymore.
Got by chicks at 6:30 today put a small plate with feed and the gel for chicks they are the gel but the feed is looking damp they are still eating and walking over it just want to be sure it is still okay for them to eat
