I know this thread is old. But if you were still looking, I got my Appenzeller hen as a baby from Fort Christmas Farm located in Christmas, FL 32709
Good luck
Update: About three months later.. Turned out both Bobbie and Maggie we're Roosters. Maggie was a little late though.. We had thought Maggie was a hen until a couple days after we re-homed Bobbie. So yeah (sigh) really wanted one of them to be a hen. Better luck next time I guess..
We have two Blue Swedish ducklings that we named Donald and Daisy. We've been told that our Donald might be female. We're not sure yet though. Here is a video link of or Donald (The darker one) and Daisy (The lighter one). They are both 8 weekd old.
Thank you @Orca5094
And I am so sorry to hear about that. We found our two from a local farm, we actually went in to get some baby chicks (very first time buying chickens) and my husband saw baby ducks but she was holding them for someone, guess that someone never showed because when we went...
Thanks a lot @Orca5094 I will keep an ear open for that quack from the lighter one. If I'm comparing them to the video you sent me then it sounds like our darker one is a female instead of the male we thought. It would be nice if both were females for eggs
Haha! We named the lighter one Daisy and the darker one Donald, Guess we might have to switch there names
Our lighter one is still peeping and usually really quite. The Darker one is just such a cry baby and very loud lol
Oh no my little Donald (the darker one) might be a DeeDee lol but my other duck doesn't quack yet but isn't raspy at all still sounds like a baby but is bigger than the darker one.
I had a question:
How can you tell if your Duckling is a male or female? I have two Blue Swedish Ducklings and we think we may have a male and a female.
We think that our lighter one is a female since she is very quiet and when she does make noise it's more like chirping and we think that our...
Scrambled eggs wow I never heard about that. So far I've been giving them peas here and there and the other day my husband put the ducks in the bathtub with a bunch of little fish and they had a blast. But I will try the Scrambled eggs when I approach them, thanks a lot @Bert2368
Aww your ducks are so adorable, I can't wait to see how my babies will look when they get older. I did have a question, my duckling are still a bit skittish especially my Donald he is such a cry baby is this normal behavior for ducklings?
These are our first set of Ducklings ever. We believe we have 1 female and 1 male but we're not sure. Lets hope we're right since their names are Donald & Daisy. They were born on Feb 14th 2015 (Valentines Day babies) and we got them when they were 2 weeks old, they are now going to be 7 weeks...
We had a feeling Bobbie was a Roo which is why we went with Bobbie instead of Barbara.
Bobbie is the one who is always jumping out of the Coop 1st when it's time for us to change out their food and water.
We have 2 Rhode Island Reds that are 6 weeks old
and we are new to owning chickens so we wanted to know what you guys think we have..
Thank You
Here are our RRs Bobbie is the one with the darker comb and Maggie is the one with the lighter one.
Let's Look at Bobbie 1st...
We have a 6 week old EE Chicken that our daughter named "Princess" we told her not to name female or male names

So we would like to know what you guys think our chicken is.
We have a 6 week old EE Chicken that our son named "Zoom Zoom"

We are unsure of the sex since this is our very first time owning chickens.
We would love to know what you guys think..
Hello we are new to owning Chickens and we just wanted to know how many chickens are allowed on a (R-1) Property? Can we have both Hens and Roosters or are we just allowed Hens? Our Chicks are too young to tell if they are male or female right now.
And does anybody know the laws for Ducks...
I am new to owning chickens and I just wanted to know if this law (only 3 hens and no roosters) is up to date ? And does anybody know the laws for owning ducks on a R1 property?
