    Sick chicken - advice please!

Thank you! I must say that I was very relieved when I weighed her! She's certainly much more active as even though she doesn't like to put weight on her bad foot, she's hopping around on her good one - when she arrived she couldn't even get up so I'm happy to see the movement!!

    Sick chicken - advice please!

Great! Thanks so much for the links! She is limping and the sore foot isn't red but is swollen - can't see a scab. I think that's how she became so unwell as she had stopped walking and therefore was unable to reach the food and water and went downhill from there. I'm going to get on with the...

Hi, just wanted to give a quick update and to thank everyone for their invaluable advice! The chicken is doing so much better now after de worming and de miting! She's eating lots and has gone from 600 G to almost 700 in the last few days - she loves the tuna! Her wet breathing/struggling for...

    Sick chicken - advice please!

Thank you! I don't actually have any chickens myself, just random rescued animals ..! I have her outside in a shed type building, in a crate with straw, food and water. It's warm here and I figured that outdoors would be less stressful for her than in.

    Sick chicken - advice please!

Hi, I rescue a variety of animals and took in a very sick chicken last night. She has bumble foot and is struggling to move but is also extremely thin (don't think she could access food or water previously) her breathing seems a bit laboured and she had some watery discharge coming from her nose...

    Baby chick - advice needed

Thank you - even though the chicks only lived for a couple of days, it's impossible not to get attached to them! We'll try to incubate some more and will pass on the information about the medicine! We hatched some last year and didn't have any problems - we didn't have adult chickens then...

    Baby chick - advice needed

Thank you so much for all your responses, unfortunatly the chick died. The children didn't have access to the chick, but the man looking after then did and he was also dealing with the other school chickens, so maybe it was. There are two eggs that haven't hatched, by they are late now...

    Baby chick - advice needed

Hi, thank so much for getting back to me. Trouble is the chick is too weak to eat or drink, so I'm feeding it via a dropper, just don't know how often and how many drops. It's not interested in eating at all, so have mashed some chick starter in with the water and some sugar. Have given...

    Baby chick - advice needed

Hi, we've had a whole batch of chicks at my school hatch and then die 2 days later. They suddenly get weak and die. I have a very weak one at home and need to know how much water to feed it and how often? The eggs took a long time to hatch and someone said that's why they are dying now. Not...

We're hatching chicks at the school where I work and one was born early today with a lump on the head (bleeding) and a wry neck - hence Twizzle - I've taken him home so he doesn't get trampled and have put him under a...
