Additional info: I just noticed that the feeder said for "up to 4 chickens". I plan on (emphasis PLAN ON!) having only 5 (currently have 9 little chicks but 4 are going to another home). I'm quite green on chicken behavior so would this cause issues around the dinner table if it's occasionally a...
I found this cool feeder and waterer on Pinterest and really like the design. I've seen a lot of homemade feeders out there but the ones that have some type of weather protection are above my skill level. I like the design of this waterer and I like the grid and rain protector on the feeder. I...
Day two with my 9 girls and I just noticed two had a little pasty butt. I think I've got it cleaned off well enough. The vent is clear but there is still a little hard poop on the feathers below. I tried to get it softened up enough to get it off but didn't want to do more harm than good...at...
Ok...my bet is that you'll be getting that early morning call for sure. At least you know they are close to you. It's hard to imagine them spending the night in the lonely post office though...but they'll snuggle up together and be just fine. :)
Keep us posted!
Sounds like that to me too. If you know of somebody in the medical profession see if they can get you some "Coban" or "Coflex"...you may can buy it at drug stores but not sure. It's that colorful tape-looking stuff they put around your arm after they do blood tests. It sticks to itself but not...
Where were they headed to from St. Paul? Mine were shipped out Monday mid-day. They arrived yesterday in Jackson MS (about 1.5 hours away) around noon but I didn't get the call until this morning that they had arrived at the local post office. I think they probably came in very late afternoon...
My post office only serves about half that size but I feel certain that they will call you immediately. Mine arrived probably sometime last night and the post office called me at 6:00 a.m.! When I walked in the door of the post office I understood why....they are LOUD!!!! So they will want you...
Love this thread!
I'm going with the "old lady" theme and collectively they will be known as "The Valley Road Ladies Society"...a ladies club of spinster sisters descended from "old money". They just arrived today so haven't yet decided who will get which name...I have two of each breed with an...
I picked up my girls from Meyer Hatchery this morning at the post office (they called at 6:00 am!). I heard them as soon as I walked into the p.o....VERY loud...but there were several shipments they said so it wasn't all coming from mine. All appear to be in good health and there's even a...
Thanks for the welcomes! Wyandottes7 I just did a search on the signature lines and found out the system has to get to "know" me before it will allow signatures...so that's why I can't see it yet. I'll have to be on my best behavior so the system will like me! :)
I think that's what it is, Lightchick. I just did a search for "signature line" and the administrator posted that for some reason the system has to "know" you before it will allow signatures. So I guess I'll have to be on my best behavior and hopefully it'll like me enough to allow my signature...
Thanks for your thoughts...and yes, I plan on using some type of tray for their feeder and waterer to cut down on the mess. Also plan on using newspaper or "pee pee pads" under the pine shavings to keep from soaking through the cardboard if I go that route.
Just curious...how do you add a...
