Mine go broody with a clutch even if i leave 3 eggs in the nest for a couple of days. As for those breeds who are already prone to being broody, i put them in a separate, quiet, dark place with food and water (i have made little mud houses for winters that are about 2ft x 3 ft which work great...
I think 1 level Tbsp should be good for each chick. Since the remedy is mostly natural and without any potentially harmful chemicals (Vit-C overdose is difficult and benign) you may not be perplexed about overdosing with this stuff.
Not sure why but people prefer hatches of the spring. Maybe because keeping the chicks warm is not a worry but this is for the cold areas. The situation might be the opposite in warmer areas. I dont have to think so much about it because my hens go broody 5 times a year!!!
Okay, will do tomorrow. Btw, I personally think of you can get your hands on a Styrofoam box it is much more efficient (energy wise) and is also very easy to move around, mine on the other end is heavier than a boulder. However, after I give you a tour of mine, you can decide if you can...

Hey Amy thought i should update! Today was hatch day and one just hatched out in front of me. Looks perfectly healthy though i dont see much movement in the remaining three. Couldnt stop so i candled one earlier today was alive but not sure if ready to hatch.

Today is day 18 and i am going into lockdown however the embryos dont look like they are developed as much as they should have by day 18 : can see about 15% albumin inside.... looks like day 14-15 egg. However, they are alive as i saw movement during candling today. The slow development is...
