I'm thinking about getting a few geese but i have a few questions:
1.Are they protective?
2.Do they get along with chickens and dogs?
3.How can you tell if they are a boy or girl?
4.Can you create a bond with them like chickens?
5.Can they fight off some animals?
On Sunday and Monday 2 of my chickens got eaten by a skunk. We caught the female but the male is still out there. My chickens sleep in my grandpa's wood workshop now but I think the skunks hole is right by the workshop. WE caught the first 1 in a cat trap but the second im afraid might some how...

My little pullet was perfectly fine this afternoon. When I came back about an hour later she was behind a board leaning on the wall. I picked her up and she was all hunched over and she can barely walk. Right now she is in the house but she wont sit down.
My Ginger is a New Hampshire Red and she laid an egg before my leghorn. I got my first egg about an hour and a half when I got back from school. I can't belive how happy I actually am!
At first I had my 3 little chickens together and then the little roo got sick. Then it was just the little mutt chicken and my buff orp. They were doing great together until today, my litle mutt was beating up on the little orp so I had to seperate them for a little while. They're together right...
Do chickens have fleas or little bugs or something living on them? I was carring around ginger, my NHR and now there are little white bugs that I can occasionaly feel walking on me.
My little roo who came down with a respitory infection resently, but now he looks great. He's starting to crow and hes really active, but his eye won't open up. Is he still sick?
How do all of you feel about keeping chickens in an apartment? I know I have around 4 more years till I go to collage and I know I can't take my whole flock with me, but I was wondering if it would be ok to still keep a bantam or other small chicken in an apartment. And if you think it will be...
