    Ameraucana Hens or roosters?

These guys are a little over 4 months old and starting to display some behavior I've never seen in my hens before, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I know the pictures aren't the best, I apologize. Can anyone confirm (or hopefully refute) my suspicions that I have roosters here?

    Sudden dramatic feather loss

Thank you so much. I've had backyard chickens for five years now and have never seen quite so dramatic of a molt, but I'm feeling much better about the whole thing.

    Sudden dramatic feather loss

She's not laying, but that's normal for her this time of year. She's eating And her poop looks normal. Pin feathers are on the way in? I was worried all those feathers were on the way out

    Sudden dramatic feather loss

So you think all the shafts are new feathers, not feathers on their way out? Only a couple days ago she looked completely normal. Could feathers have fallen out and grown back so quickly? I'll keep my fingers crossed for that.

    sick chicken

I have a three year old hen that hasn't been herself for a couple of days. Last night I noticed her laying in the nesting box when all the other girls were out free ranging. She had layed her egg earlier that morning, so I thought it was strange. She really didn't want to move, but I picked...

    orphaned duckling -Please help

Today I recieved an orphaned duckling that my sister found wondering down the middle of the street alone. It can't be more than a few days old. I don't really know, I've never had ducks. She brought it to me to care for until it can be on it's own. I did a little preliminary research and put...

    Mealworm farming

I'm getting ready to try my hand at mealworms for my chickens. It's taken me a while to take the leap because I hate the idea of breeding bugs in my house. Can I do it in the garage. I live in Oregon in the valley. It's been below freezing lately and I'm thinking maybe I should put them in there...
