    What would be around the same size and temperament as a silkie. Really do like the silkies they remind me of Phyllis Diller and the huge feathered hats she would wair. Can you recommend any other breed that lays eggs and is a smaller chicken that I could look into?

    So glad I found this site. New to chickens, looking at black and blue orpingtons and Splash and partridge bearded silkies to start with. They seem to have nice friendly dispositions, and may get along well. Do you think these would be good choices? I would get 3 of each.
