I have a hen who nested and it didn't turn out well. All of the chocolate turkeys (what she and the tom are) died and one that looked like it could be a Merriam's survived. The Merriam's got killed by the tom because I was dumb and didn't seperate them properly. All but one of the chocolates...
I have a hen who has been sitting on eggs for almost a month now. Today I came home and checked to see two lumps of feathers that turned out to be dead poults. There are still some eggs, so I'm assuming they hatched today. I was wondering what I could do to keep these alive. This is assuming...
I have a hen that is nesting right now. Earlier this week I saw some feathers on one side sticking out more, I thought her legs were out of whack because she was laying. Yesterday I saw blood in the cage and she was holding her right leg up. Turns out she has a 3"x4" slab of skin and feathers...
I have a Tom and a Hen and was wondering if it's okay to keep them in the same enclosure while the hen is nesting? If not, can they be in adjacent enclosures?
I have a nearing 1 year old chocolate hen and chocolate tom of the same age. They live in a somewhat small pen for most of the day. I provided my hen with a half of a large dog crate (the one that you take them to the vet and stuff with) as a nesting box. I put shaving in it. Her first egg was...
I have two Chocolate turkey, one male, and one female. I keep them locked up in a decently sized enclosure (they ran off once and got stolen). I ofter give them 3 hours, to roam, a day. What should I do to hve them breed successfuly? I'm most worried about a nest. Right now I have half a dog...
I was wondering if there is any place where I can get Mourning Dove squabs? A place that sells them or people who breed them. There soo pretty and I want them to go along with my Turkeys (not eating either.)
I came home from school today and found one of my poults dead in a corner of it's pen with all the others huddling around it's body. When I took it out they started peeping. They're about a day off from being a month old. This poult was lying down with blood all over it's head, mostly on one...
Either that's true or they're being businessmen and trying to make money. I left mine with a wing like that and it's slowly aligning and that poult can fly better than some of his peers.
10/10 will shoot the owl near me if it kills my turkeys.
What are the chances of it killing my turkeys if I free range them? Right now they are chocolate poults.
