Sequel,
Thank you so much for your informative suggestions! We've been staying temporarily in Port Ludlow, so we don't yet have our bearings in Kitsap. I am excited to check out Viking Feed and the Poulsbo Cenex. I'm glad to hear there are options other than TSC.
Hello, everyone. We're moving to north Kitsap County, and I'm looking for recommendations on where to acquire feed, bedding, AND chickens in my new locale. We're near Hansville, so I'm hoping not to go further south than Silverdale... I do know about the Tractor Supply there. Any suggestions?
I joined BYC quite a few years ago when I lived in NC and kept a laying flock. Since then, we've moved around the world. Now we're in the process of settling into our permanent home in Kitsap County, WA! I'll be posting in the state thread since I'm hoping to meet other chicken keepers in the...
I'm not wild about shopping, so I only shop about once a year. I take it seriously, and go to a place that I cannot fail, like a large shopping mall complex. I take my time, and spend the whole day finding things that fit my body properly or need minimal alterations. I usually don't find too...
This sounds like crop dusting to me. Do you live near farm land? Years ago I lived near farmland, and after a crop dusting treatment gone awry, my neighbors bass and catfish went belly up in his large pond. I had some adult birds become ill, too.
On the packaging for my fly tape, it reads "clean up excess glue with peanut butter". I would try that! If not, give her a trim! One of my chickens lost all his tail feathers to that stuff.
WOW Rillion! You and I have an amazingly similar situation. I, too live in a subdivision with an incredibly yappy dachshund named "Ozzy" that lives behind me. Ozzy starts barking before dawn, barking at squirrels, cats, whatever he sees and wakes me up every time. Lately, thankfully, my...
This is Leah, in her bed with her dolly. She's a 3yr old Great Dane Mix.
This is Peter, also a Great Dane Mix. He had severe skin cancer and was euthanized in Jan. I miss him terribly.
LA~Poulet :
We forgot to eat the traditional top layer of our wedding cake on our first anniversary.
We both forgot ours once, our fourth or sixth, not sure, until my MIL called to wish us a happy day,
May (our anniversary month) is always so insanely busy with other weddings, birthdays...
Just out of curiosity, what breed did you order? My barred rocks from Ideal were very healthy, but my easter eggers were not as spry and I lost 1 out of 2. If you don't want more shipped, Ideal WILL refund your money.

She said there seems to be a magnetism between pit bulls and such people....not that that description fits everyone with a pit pull.
I personally think that there's a magnetism between new Mustangs and people who can't or won't drive responsibly. I think that because an unusual...
It bother's me tremendously that she's hiding a dog from the homeowner. My husband and I have rentals, and it infuriates me when people intentionally violate their lease. If the dog is an issue, I would inform the homeowner ASAP. They would be grateful for the information. If the Realtor knows...
I am very strict with my dog and don't have this problem. She knows I'm the alpha and she should do as told. I work with her training several times a week and she knows commands like "leave it" and "halt" very well. Some regular training sessions could help, but won't provide immediate results...
I had a shipment of 10 chicks from Ideal. I kept 2 barred rocks and 2 easter eggers for myself and sold the extras. One of the 2 EEs in the shipment (my absolute favorite) was lethargic from the start. The little chipmunk EE was crammed in the corner of the box and didnt jump to life like the...
I would certainly try flushing and treating before culling your bird. At home, you can flush with regular saline eyewash that you would use on yourself. An eye ointment certainly wouldn't hurt. It will help keep the eye moisturized and ward
off localized infection. If you can't find eye ointment...
