Feed store LF Cochins most often come from major hatcheries. I have a blue cochin hen from a large hatchery, and she is beautiful. They're not show quality but they tend to lay more eggs than show cochins because that's a trait that is bred for in hatcheries. More eggs=more chicks=more money

Agreed! You have to be careful on how you assimilate the flock. You may have to make some hard decisions. My flock started with 1 LF Cochin hen. Then a few weeks later, I introduced an Easter Egger hen. Then a few weeks late, a fighting bred game hen found her way into my yard. (she has spurs!)...
