My rooster has a broken beak. He's never aggressive to me or my kids but he's not kind to the other chickens aND roosters. I have to get rid of at least one rooster....thinking this is him?;:(
Hello. I am wondering about lacto fermenting feed. Second batch and it went bad. I have at least 2 inches of water over thevtop. Stirring it 3 times a day at least. Ends up smelling like alcohol and is fizzy. :/ I have been using regular layer feed mixed with some scratch. Is the scratch causing...
If you scroll down the there is a red button that says comments....past the ads and other links. Above a red button labeled videos. Flibbert is think your response was perfect.
And the saga continues. He informed my husband that if he trespasses on his property again he will have him arrested. My husband replied with a shocked and unknowing "What?!?" He has my husband on tape going into his yard on Friday with our chuckit to retrieve our dogs ball that he couldn't...
Ugh!!!!!!! We are in the process of clearing out a space for the coop and run. We are moving them. I left for town. Checked on my girls and the coop was locked up. My landlord texted me that the chickens were in our neighbors yard. Our neighbor took a freaking video and sent it to him. They dug...
I am still planning on sharing eggs with them as I can. My husband and I have really tried to stuff the frustrations aside. We haave a meeting with the landlord this week so we can go over property stuff. I feel terrible though. I don't like having disagreements with anyone. Typically I will try...
I used some of a few people's ideas to put this together.
For some reason the pics posted in reverse order. I wrote down the measurements but i would venture to say no two hoop coops will be the same because of the cuts and such. But maybe this will give you an idea. We really...
It appears that some of you missed the point. We get it. Our chickens need to be on our property. I was venting and was hoping this was a safe place. We are building the run and figuring it out. As for the neighbor....he is a Scrooge. About everything. He will always have something to complain...
You all are great. I am so glad i have a page i can go to where so many people understand. Tonight he crossed a line. We are in the middle of fencing off a run. Still picking up supplies. I moved the hoop coop alone today to help facilitate the fencing. The chickens obviously had to be let out...
Thanks everyone. He really is a cranky neighbor. Henis in a great mood one day...the nextnot so much. His wife is awesome. Lol. I do realize that it is our responsibility to keep our chickens in control. His wife liked that they were eating her bugs and ticks. He is more like the individual...
Help. My neighbor initially was fine with my chickens free ranging. They have been going in their yard eating their bugs. I spoke with him in the past and he didnt mind. Now he is all bent out of shape. He said that his dog (who is always in the house or is on a chain) is a breed that kills...
love it! I was planning on using a 5 gallon bucket....wondering if it doesn't need to be that big and if a square bucket would be better rather than an round bucket.
I have been reading about the bucket with the 90 degree street elbow pvc. I have 8 chickens (right now)....getting addicting!!! For one bucket if I put 3 of the 3 inch PVC elbows in it would that be sufficient for 8 chickens??
I really really appreciate all the posts about the bucket feeder with the street elbow. I think by all the positive reviews on it that it will be the way I go. I am new to this whole chicken thing and would rather not go through 8 different styles till I figure out the right one. Thanks so much!!!
How did you install them? Would you be so kind as to show me a pic? I am struggling way the how. And when. When do we move them out of the plastic tub into a bit bigger spce? As of right now nipple system would not fit in the tub. They are about 2 weeks old.
I am feeling slightly overwhelmed with the options. In my brooder the chicks are messy like everyone elses are. I am looking at options for the coop. I see hanging watering systems, vertical nipples, horizontal nipples, cup nipples....TOO MANY OPTIONS for this mommy of 4 kids (10, 6, 2, and 2...
