I have two banties that I was told were seramas when I bought them but now I'm not so sure. First they seem like their legs are too long. Second, I'm not seeing the vertical wings/tail. Both have a super sweet disposition. They're both about 5 months old and siblings (I assume, they came...
Recently, my husband brought me home a serama hen he found at an auction. She's wearing a green plastic legband and I've been trying to find out what the code means. My research keeps pointing me towards the National Pigeon Association. Here's the numbers... NPA 11 07 TD 727. Any ideas...
I Thought this was so cute I had to share. This is my bantam hen, Pixie, trying to hatch a chunk of multi-grain bread. She hilarious to watch as she rearranges the shavings and turns her "egg". She even tries to hatch the eggs that her buddy lays. She just adds those in with her bread.
I recently took in 8 ISA brown hens that are about 1 1/2 years old. Within the first couple days I found a large spurt of blood running down the inside of the nest box they use (vent level). Then no blood for several days and now I've had a second incident. I can't determine for sure which...
I'm interested to know which breed of bantam lays the smallest eggs. I have two bantams (breed unknown, bought at a feed store) and the eggs are just a touch smaller than a ping-pong ball and egg shaped of course. Are there any that come smaller?

I like to know for certain if this is a bird is a hen or a rooster. She (?) was bought in early april at a local feed store as an auracana pullet. That said, I realize she's probably an Easter Egger. (We we're after colored eggs and not breed anyway.) I keep comparing her to pictures of hens...
