I know this is an old post but i was wondering the same thing. I hatched only 1 chick out of my last batch and we think he has imprinted on me and my daughter. He chirps really loud if he cant get to us and follows us everywhere! We tried to put him under a broody hen 2x and he wasnt having it...
I have 6 ducks in a 6x12 and they share it with 5 ducks and 3 goslings. Everyone of them huddle up together. Its definitely warm here and even when sun bathing they do. They are only up at night and have lots of room to roam on. It depends on the duck. Hubby likes thw city life and i will die if...
I think raising ducklings & goslings are way more fun then chicks. I take my ducklings and goslings on a walk around my block :-) people laugh, take pictures, kids make them run with them etc. Chicks just sit lol.
I was fixing to ask this very thing! I ran out of feed yesterday and have no clue what to give them in the mean time :-( Mine graze during the day anyways but my goslings, ducklings and chicks have feed and water at night. Im letting them graze longer since im out of food. I hope they will be...

If you feed them and take good care of them they will stay. They wont fly off if you have food lol. TWRA suggested I clip thwir wings as a few of mine fly but I couldn't. We really enjoy wathing them fly around the yard lol. Yes we have ours with our rooster but they was even with Banhams and...
I have 6 goslings and the way I tell if mine can go outside for the day is this.....when I walk outside my face should automatically feel warm, if not they stay in. Always keep a top on your fence to keep the birds away
No they don't. Ive raised several and I dont let thwm have food or water at night. Make sure you take the food out also pr they will choke. I feed and water mine several times (we want ours as pets). It will not hurt them but make sure they can eat and drink all they want! We hand feed ours and...
