We are out in the middle of nowhere, and have no restrictions outside of a nuke plant....
Will keep a few Roos for breeding...others take the ice train...
Are you replying to me?????
Ordered 30, received 32....3 died in short time and they offered to replace or refund for the 3......2 of which were extras to begin with...
This was after them replacing the whole 1st order due to a shipping mistake...not the birds health....
They will be getting my...
My collection of straight run brown egg layers hit 10 weeks old on Wednesday.....yesterday I hear a strangled sound....then again alittle louder and longer...sounds like a.....peak around the corner and standing on the cage one of the reds starts bowing up and crows the best he can....

No we haven't, have gotten others local from TSC and 2 different feed stores.
On a side note, of the 32 chickens sent, lost 3 in the 1st couple days, 2 CX , but all the others are doing well at 8 weeks old today...biggest CX is 6lbs 4oz....Named her "Smoked"
My 1st set of CX are 8 weeks old today, heaviest one tipped the scale at 6-4. I'm feeding them grower starter, and a scoop of scratch when I pull their feeder in the evening. Love the way they charge at me as soon as I walk out in the morning. Was hoping to have one ready for family coming in...

I picked up 20 straight run mixed Brown egg layers that are 8 weeks old today. They have been growing and doing well, now reside in a 12x12 dog lot. Last week my brother calls and hooks me up with 5 about 1 year old hens that were laying. Poor hens have bald spots on there backs from the...

I started to read then noted the 342 pages and jumped to the last few pages....I'll try tonight at work. They are on probiotic and sugar water (alternating) and full time med chick started till day 5. I'll try to keep it close to 12 on 12 off as I can.
Thanks for the welcomes.
New here, and new to raising these myself, 10 in the brooder on day 2.
Feed question, does it need to be the same exact time every day to stop feeding them? I work 12 hour rotating shifts so mine may vary by a few hours.
Well I'll go in the opposite direction, We are very pleased with Welp Hatchery.
there was a mix up in shipping dates, and received the birds 2 days after ordering instead of the 2 weeks I had requested. Due to the fact we were gone and had unreliable help attempt to pick up the birds and set...
I am awaiting on 30 straight runs.....20 are a brown egg mix....once it becomes obvious, 1 rooster of each type will be granted clemency for breading......the remaining will join the other 10 Cornish Rocks in that really really cold coop.
